Breeder Spotlight - ICC Trophy Whitetail Ranch
Located just east of Kaufman, Texas, on 250 acres of East Texas oak timber, lies ICC Trophy Whitetail Ranch, home retired fireman Ike Conway. Ike spent over 33 years fighting fires and helping citizens as a Dallas firefighter. Today Ike spends much of his time with family, friends, and chasing deer.
A proud father and grandfather, Mr. Conway values his time spent with his kids and grandkids. Introducing them to the great outdoors and the way of the whitetail, Ike enjoys seeing them participate and taking interest in his lifelong passions.
Always a deer enthusiast, and avid hunter, Mr. Conway can be found enjoying his retirement pursuing whitetail, mule deer, and many other game animals. His hunting adventures take him to East Texas, the Palo Duro Canyon, and anywhere else he can track down a hunting opportunity.
Though in retirement Ike commits much of his time working hard as a whitetail breeder. After many years as a fireman Ike decided to pursue his passion for whitetail deer in a more serious manner. Investing in an initial set of whitetail doe, purchased from Diamond D Ranch, Ike matched up his females with bucks like “Looking for Trouble” and SOC - “son of Cisco”. In addition, with the guidance of long time deer breeder and fellow fireman, Tom Malouf, several yearling bucks out of Buford were added to Ike’s breeding program. Today, Mr. Conway’s breeding operation has taken hold and you will find several up and coming bucks.
Not far from Ike live several other breeders, several of which who are also retired or active firemen. And on many days, where you find one, you will often find another. Gathering at the local café for lunch or at each other’s ranch, Ike and his fellow firemen spend many hours together discussing the latest industry news, helping each other out, and sharing stories about their latest hunting excursions.
