Located just west of Lometa, Texas in Lampasas County, Triple M Ranch is the home of Sendero Whitetails and Jimmy, Vicki and Chad McLean. The 200-acre Central Texas ranch has been family-owned and operated since it was established by Vicki's great-grandfather in 1876.

After serving as a small mammal rehabilitator for Texas Parks and Wildlife, Vicki McLean realized her lifelong dream of raising high quality whitetail deer under a Texas Scientific Breeder Permit (TX1618) in 1998.

The goal from the very beginning has been to produce an outstanding line of trophy-quality whitetail deer. With that in mind, we set about obtaining some of the finest genetics available, including foundation stock from the Tommy Dugger bloodline. Starting out with doe and buck fawns, we have spent the last 9 years establishing a program built upon passion, hard work, and integrity.

Building upon our original stock, we have developed several bucks within our program that have become proven producers. A few of them being G’Rilla, K2, and Curly. Both G’Rilla and K2 are from top Kansas genetics and pass on many of their characteristics, such as, heavy mass, tine length, drop-tines, and kickers. Curly, one of our original buck fawns from Tommy Dugger, is a beautiful deer. He has great mass, long tines, kickers, and mule deer forks. These bucks and others have been great for our program, producing excellent offspring like BG, G-404, G-531, and LG, just to name a few.

As Sendero Whitetails has grown, we have carefully identified proven genetics to compliment our program, paying close attention to the doe side of the equation, as well as, the performance of the offspring. In doing so we have acquired genetics from several top bloodlines, including Billy Powell, Leo Hicks, David McQuaig, as well as, top genetics from Kansas. In addition, we have also implemented artificial insemenation within our breeding program and are currently utilizing semen from great bucks like Maxbo, Maxbo Extreme, Maxbo Encore, and Maxbo Thicket. We have also partnered up with Billy Powell and Leo Hicks on Rold Gold, a High Roller son, in which we have semen rights to and will be incoporating him into our AI program. We are extremely excited about the future of these proven genetics.

At Sendero Whitetails we go to great efforts to ensure the health of our deer while maintaining a hands-on-approach with our program. Our deer are important to us and we spend much of our time around our breeding pens monitoring their activity. We also spend our summers bottle raising all of our does, something we have been doing since the beginning of our operations. Excellent animal husbandry is a priority to our breeding operation. Our deer receive regular vaccinations, proper nutritional feed rations, and our facilities offer a stress free environment so that our deer may reach their full genetic potential. We have also been participating in CWD monitoring since 2002.

We firmly believe in maintaining the integrity of our program. We track all of our activities and maintain detailed records of our animals. We also have an extensive DNA testing program to confirm the results of our breeding program. This enables us to ensure our customers that they receive exactly what they purchase.

Our management and conservation practices along with our foundation of great genetics have allowed us to produce whitetail deer ideal for those wanting to start their own breeder program or for those wanting to improve the genetics on their ranch.
