The love for the sport of hunting and whitetail deer is something Kevin, Kara and the entire Love family have a common passion for. Their goal is to simply produce the biggest deer in Texas while providing a buying experience for our clients that is second to none. That goal is overwhelmingly obvious from the moment you enter the gate.

Wildlife Manager, Derrick Garnett, has a bachelor's degree in Wildlife Management from Stephen F. Austin State University and oversees the operations of the ranch. Ensuring the health, management and overall prosperity of the wildlife on the ranch is Derrick's obsession.

Our philosophy on genetics at The Non-Typical Ranch is simple: Start with the best, breed the best and raise the bar on producing trophy whitetails in Texas! When we first began our breeding program in 2002, we sought out the absolute best genetics available in the marketplace. Proven pedigrees and record setting genetics were all we were interested in.

Our doe lines at The Non-Typical Ranch came from deep Texas Pedigrees and we sought most of our original sire lines from proven northern strained bucks. This strategy has enabled us to produce whitetails with pedigrees matched by few around. If you're looking to improved your herd's genetics, look no further: We have what you're looking for!

Our herd sires stem from reknown breeding programs and represent some of North America’s top whitetail genetics. Currently, all of our 2, 3, and 4 year old herd sires carry 200+ to 300+ genetics in their pedigrees. Several of which score well over 200” themselves. With proven backgrounds we are confident in their future prouduction and added value to our or any breeder’s program.

The list of AI sires found at The Non-Typical Ranch represents many of today’s top proven producers from across North America. Our AI offspring are sired by top breeders such as Easy Money, MF, High Roller, Max, Maxin, Jake, Stickers, Maxbo, Maxbo Extreme, and Top Gun. With these superior genetics in place, crossed with our top pedigreed doe, one can’t help be excited about their offspring production and improvement to their breeding operation.
